War of the Worlds – by  H.G. Wells

This project was to design and create a model A4 size - Scale 1:100 of the Martian vessel in the War of the Worlds (1897). 

I took my inspiration from several sources - NASA photographs of Mars and the shapes created on the planet's surface, modern architecture of building such as Glasgow’s  Armadillo, fossils of trilobites and the sting section of a wasp. The three legs were designed in the style of prosthetic legs with clawed feet.

Processes used to create this model were CAD drawing, 3D printing, laser cutting, vacuum forming  and airbrush painting.
